PRACTICE FACILITY DEVELOPMENT

Whether you are considering a brand new development or the modernization of an existing facility, on or off course, the opportunity for GOLF PRACTICE FACILITY DEVELOPMENT has never been better.

Recent studies show that the U.S. golfing public has grown to more than 25 million (roughly 10% of the entire U.S. population) and the game attracts upwards of two million beginners each year.

The growth potential is evident. Golf courses far outnumber stand-alone ranges in the U.S. There are close to 18,000 courses versus some 2,200 ranges. Stand-alone ranges are serving many types of golfers. This type of facility will appeal to new golfers who are eager to learn a new sport as well as the experienced golfers who want to improve their game. A new National Golf Foundation study shows that off-course range goers – which now totals 17.8 million – has been growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 9% or by about 1.3 million a year since 1994.

If you compare this rate of growth to the U.S. golfer population, which has only grown at about 2% or less than 500,000 a year over the same period, you have to wonder what the growth in golf participation would have been without the 9% growth in range participation.

Over the past few years, the interest in developing new and renovating existing Practice Facilities has increased dramatically. The demand for golf has outgrown the supply.

Our Consultants have the experience, practical knowledge and understanding of the needs of the Practice Facility business. We have actively participated in all aspects of the Practice Facility business including site selection, range design and operational management. Since it is more likely than not that you will be operating the facility and your money will be tied up in the project, we can assist you in conducting your own feasibility analysis before you get involved. Knowledge of the project and the surrounding market is the first step towards a successful plan. We can also act as an independent consultant to provide information necessary to help you meet lender or partnership requirements including report documentation.

Our level of involvement in a project can vary from simply reviewing a set of plans to complete on-site consultation to a full management role for a turnkey Practice Facility development. Call us for a list of consultation references and a consultation rate schedule.
